How Sopoteso began and our bond with home comfort
We started in Ancona out of a desire to rediscover traditional blankets: substantial, genuine pieces that lasted generations in family wardrobes. We were tired of seeing the market flooded with flimsy plastic microfiber throws that lose their thickness after two washes, build up static electricity, and end up thrown away after a single winter season.
We chose to work only with mills that process pure virgin wool without blending in synthetic scraps. Each fabric batch arrives at our warehouse on Via Sandro Totti, where we open every piece, inspect the blanket stitch edging, and ensure there are no weave defects before packing the blanket into its storage sleeve.
